Description
Beautiful industrial Dutch wall shelves from the 50’s by Tjerk Reijenga for Pilastro. Pilastro Furniture was started by Reijenga in 1955 to make a new modular wall unit in the same way other wall system maker String did. The Pilastro wall system was sold in various furniture stores in the Netherlands including the « Bijenkorf », which is an Dutch luxury warehouse and the equivalent of « Harrods » in the UK. The modular pieces are made of lacquered steel. The pieces can be attached to each-other by using the iron risers that can hold the mounting brackets for the pieces. The iron risers have to be attached to a wall. Reijenga his wall system is probably the most important Dutch wall system from the mid-century. white: 63 x 16 cm and black 70 x 20 cm
